Entry Penned Beginning

It feels like the last week and a half have really been a blur, settling in at the farm, which we have affectionately nicknamed The Castle. Cleaning the house and the flat, making everything habitable for us, learning the quirks and planning next steps.
Dad and his partner came up today to have a look around and give us their advice and it is gratifying to hear how that the place has the sort of potential we had hoped and we have a few ideas on what to do next.
There was a bit of a rough patch, a stormy sea for our ship if you like the analogy, midweek but truth be told it is merely the weather and the nature of the voyage and I am so very proud of how we have all navigated it.
I spent some of the time this week in getting our semi public discord chat server ( https://discord.gg/yyXtw8WBzG ) up and while that has been a bit quiet it is nice to be able to have, for so many of us I think it feels like a deep exhalation of a breath we have been holding for a long time (to avoid catching COVID perhaps *chuckles* ) when we have been withdrawn from the world in general.
I also got to update our substack ( https://housewayreth.substack.com/ ) for the first time in a while which was personally more enjoyable for me than I had realised or expected.
Now that most of the initial flurry of activity in moving and settling is over I am hoping to be able to take a little time to rest, to recuperate and simply enjoy being in the space before tackling the next thing; we have a lot of work ahead of us, both here at the Castle and for our continuing journey, but life is now and we will take joy in being here when and where we can.
