It has been a very busy week, end even though sometimes it feels like spinning in circles it really is making some progress; it is more spirals than circles.
Monday saw me taking the train to Bendigo to pickup our car from the mechanic, an old family friend. If Max reads this at all I am sure he will get a kick out of the fact that Rose’s weird car things continue no matter what continent we are on; apparently the control arms on the steering weren’t hooked up…
Since I was already mostly there I stopped by Eppalock on the way home, caught up with dad and had a look at another caravan which looks like it will work well for us.
Tuesday was grocery day; which in a house full of neurospicy folks with eating disorders is a bit more of an undertaking than you might think. Digital shopping in advance makes it smoother; of course we than stacked an additional task of a doctors visit and Robert’s next round of vaccines on to top. He was very brave, got a certificate for it and of course his promised happy meal afterwards. Sadly the playground was closed so he had to make do with lots of snuggles and getting the extra toys out of Rose and my adult happy meals.
Thursday we took a trip out to grandma’s place. Robert was very excited to go back to visit, happily bursting in to shout “hi grandma” and visit with the puppy and then find his favorite spots to sit again.
We are trying to make it a fortnightly thing, a Sunday lunch, just not on Sunday since during the week works better for us all, in this case a lamb roast and salads.

Friday we had a toilet issue, still not 100% sure on what it was but clearly some sort of blockage that saw me try my hand at basic plumbing. Given the bulk of my plumbing knowledge revolves around mushrooms that make you big and jumping on the shells of turtle like creature while avoiding the snapping plants that come out of pipes it was an adventure.
Fortunately a successful one.
More and more I am finding myself just trying to fix something on the principle that “it can’t get more broken”
Yesterday was op-shopping, in hindsight we should not have planned it for a weekend, too many people and blessed gods has Echuca gotten bigger and busier. Still a productive if exhausting outing, plenty of things to get the flat a bit more homey and fill in some of the blanks in our stuff; as well as a replacement washing machine. Getting that installed is tomorrow’s job, along with situating this second caravan that dad is bringing up for us.
Wednesday should see me doing a flying visit to Melbourne to see my doctor to get some of my health management underway as well as collect some PC parts. All going well I will have my PC running again by Thursday but we shall see how I go. Somewhere in there I need to arrange a mailbox and get mail service organised so that we can start updating details with various places.
Still one foot in front of the other, giving ourselves time to catch our breath from day to day, and we are getting a bit more settled with every circuit of the days.
Hopefully after this week I will be able to get a better routine settled in, get back more of my self care time and hopefully be able to explore a bit more of my thoughts in this journal.
Like the two or three things that happened this week alone that highlighted exactly why we needed to take a holidays from the US about now.
I double checked, it was four things that were specifically terrifying, three of which were directly applicable to Rose and I to the point of being almost on the nose about it. So yeah….
